We require a DB Administrator to work primarily in the Private Sector technical team. The team's responsibility is to design, develop and implement integrated technical solutions to our private sector healthcare clients although there may be a requirement to work across other sectors including non healthcare and local government. Your role will be to bring specialist knowledge surrounding the installation, maintenance and tuning of SQL Server 2000 & 2005 databases.

§          Screening database performance, tuning and sizing.

§          Maintaining security requirements, patching and upgrades.

§          Implementing backup and recovery procedures.

§          Writing new and tuning existing scripts

§          Supporting project management and working closely with managed projects within the organization

§          Assisting project team through all phases of project delivery from conception to delivery and support

§          Support for database application development and release including testing

§          Assisting the business in the production of reports.

Knowledge & Skills

§          Strong experience designing relational database management systems, with specific interest in manageability

§          Strong working knowledge of SQL

§          Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server

§          People Skills - Must be able to document and communicate db operations and issues to the business

§          Flexibility to work after-hours
